Many plants and animals live in extreme conditions. Choose a different plant or animal to research from the PowerPoint below. You can use the internet, books, watch factual videos or ask somebody about the living thing you have chosen.

Now, create an information sheet about how that living thing has adapted to its surroundings and habitat.

Draw a picture of the living thing.

Write some facts about it.

Describe how it has adapted to living in the desert.

Tuesday 5th May 2020 – Mathematics :)

Today we will be reading, writing and solving number sentences involving addition (+), subtraction (–) and the equals (=) signs , and we will use number bonds and subtraction facts to 20 to help us!

Let’s do some counting! Watch the videos about counting to 20 and backwards to 0.

Let’s begin by reading, writing and solving addition and subtraction number sentences.

Let’s take a look at how to use number bonds up to 20.

This Knowledge Organiser shows the number bond to 10 and related number bond to 20. Count the yellow circles, then add the blue circles, and then add all the circles together. You can then do it in reverse: how many are there altogether? Take away the blue circles. How many are left?

This shows a few ways to answer questions using number bonds and subtraction facts to 20.

Here are your Phonics and Spelling tasks for today:

  1. Complete the tasks shown in the pictures below.
  2. Log onto Phonics Play and go to Children -> Phase 5 -> Flashcards Speed Trial -> Phases 3 & 5A. If you want another challenge, select Phase 5a instead of Phases 3 & 5A.

Your task today is to read the information on how to grow a plant. Then answer the questions.

There are 3 challenges to work through. Start on Challenge 1, then move onto 2 and 3 if you wish.
